Listuguj Community Health Services Discontinue Prescription Drop-off Services

The Listuguj Community Health Services (LCHS) would like to inform our community that they will no longer be providing a prescription drop-off services as of September 7, 2021.

The drop off service has been essential during our lockdown phase and travel has been accessible now since New Brunswick and Quebec border restrictions have been in the Green phase (as of July 30, 2021).

COVID-19 Case UPDATE

August 27,2021. UPDATE:

Public Health will be contacting members of our community for COVID-19 tracing for those who have been in contact with the individual who has a positive case. Those in close contact can be tested in the next two days at the CLSC in Point-a-La-Croix screening facility which will be open Saturday August 28th, 2021 and Sunday August 29th, 2021 from  9:00 AM-5:ooPM for each day. The CLSC is located at 48 Bd Interprovincial, No appointment necessary.

If you believe you have been in contact with the COVID-19 case recently, please call the Public Health number is 1-877-644-4545.

It is important to continue to maintain physical distancing, wear a face mask, wash your hands frequently, practice respiratory etiquette, and find an alternative greeting.

We will continue to monitor the situation and keep our community updated as it develops.

COVID-19 (Delta Variant) Active in MRC Avignon

August 16, 2021 – Quebec Public Health has confirmed with the Listuguj Community Health Services that the COVID-19 Delta Variant is present in MRC Avignon, which includes the Listuguj First Nation community.

We wish to remind our community residents to continue to follow the general safety precautions for the Quebec Alert Level 1 (Green) for COVID-19.  It is important to continue to maintain physical distancing, wear a face mask, wash your hands frequently, practice respiratory etiquette and find an alternative greeting.

After weeks of planning, a COVID-19 Mobile Vaccination Clinic was held in Listuguj on August 13 & 14, 2021.  This Clinic was made possible through the partnership between the LCHS and the CISSS/CLSC.  A total of 161 community residents received either their first or second dose of the Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine.

The LCHS/CISSS will coordinate another Mobile Vaccination Clinic in Listuguj in early October.  Later, the LCHS will announce both the time and location for this clinic.

Bike Rodeo Postponed

August 11, 2021 – In light of the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in our community, the Listuguj Community Health Center has announced that they will be postponing the Bike Rodeo scheduled for Wednesday, August 18th, 2021 . The new date for the Bike Rodeo will be Saturday, September 18th, 2021.

Listuguj COVID-19 Testing Site

August 11, 2021 – The Listuguj Community Health Services (LCHS) in partnership with QC Public Health (CISSS) have established a COVID-19 Testing Site in Listuguj. The Testing Site, centrally located at 21 Riverside West (across from Metallic’s Grocery), is a drive thru testing site available to Listuguj Residents, by appointment only.

Appointments for in-community testing can be made, Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm, by calling the Health Center at 418-788-2155.

 

What To Expect

Clients will be asked to always remain in their vehicle and park in the designated COVID-19 Testing Spot. Immediately following testing, clients will be instructed to return to their residence to await their results.

Positive test results will be sent to QC Public Health for re-testing and confirmation. Individuals with positive COVID-19 test results will be contacted directly by QC Public Health for notification, symptom monitoring and contact tracing.

Individuals who need testing outside of regular business hours can call 1-877-644-4545 to schedule an appointment through the CLSC COVID-19 Testing Site.

Third Confirmed Case of COVID-19 in Listuguj

August 11, 2021 – The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government is announcing (1) new confirmed case of COVID-19 in the community. The total number of active cases in the community is three.

The LMG and QC Public Health are working collaboratively to monitor the on-going situation closely and to provide on-going support to those affected.

COVID Vaccines and Testing Requirements

If you had your first COVID-19 vaccination ONLY and have been in contact with someone who has tested positive with COVID-19, you need to be tested.

  • In-community testing is available by appointment only. To book an appointment with the Listuguj COVID-19 Testing Site, located at 21 Riverside West (across from Metallic’s Grocery), please contact the Listuguj Community Health Services, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm, at (418) 788-2155.
  • Alternatively, you can book an appointment with the CLSC in Point-a-la-Croix and other Quebec testing sites by calling 1-877-644-4545 or by visiting their website (link).

Our goal is to reach 75% vaccination rate for Listuguj. This will help ensure the health and well-being of our community during this on-going pandemic.

This is a reminder to all community members and residents of the importance of following the recommended Public Health advice:

  • Monitor for symptoms;
  • Stay home when sick;
  • Wash hands frequently;
  • Practice proper cough etiquette; and
  • Wear mask when out in public.

Second Confirmed Case of COVID-19 in Listuguj

August 10, 2021 – The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government have been notified that a second community member tested positive for COVID-19. The individual is under Quarantine and is being monitored by public health.

Be advised, if you had your first vaccine ONLY, and have been in contact with someone who has tested positive with COVID-19, you need to be tested by public health. You can call 1 877 644-4545 or go to Quebec.ca to schedule an appointment.

There will be a mobile COVID 19 vaccination site provided Friday August 13th, 2021 and Saturday August 14th by the old MMS building (see link below).

We strongly urge everyone to continue to follow all standard COVI-19 safety protocols: Masks, Hand Washing, Social Distancing if you display Symptoms please stay home and contact public health for recommendations.

Confirmed Case of COVID-19 in Listuguj

August 9, 2021 – On the evening of August 7, 2021, Quebec Public Health notified the Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government that a community member tested positive for COVID-19. Quebec Public Health is currently conducting contact tracing to identify people who have been in close contact with the individual who tested positive.

Be advised, if you had your first vaccine ONLY, and have been in contact with someone who has tested positive with COVID-19, you need to be tested.

Again, contact tracing is currently underway. For those who have been in close contact with the individual QC Public Health will contact you directly, and you will be asked to self-isolate and monitor for symptoms to limit any potential spread. The individual who tested positive is self-isolating, and their health will be monitored by public health.  The Listuguj Community Health Services will provide support to families directly affected.

We want to remind our community members and residents that what we need now more than ever is to practice mindfulness and compassion. The virus is a disease that does not discriminate.
