COVID-19 Update – Holiday Plans

With the number of COVID-19 cases rising in the surrounding area, the Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government urges all Listuguj residents to stay local this holiday season. Before making plans to shop or travel, please keep in mind that parts of the Bas Saint-Laurent region in Quebec are currently classified as red zones and should be avoided. These zones include cities such as Rimouski, Amqui and Matane. Visit the Quebec Alert Levels Map for more details.

It is important to note that the following guidelines remain in effect. Listuguj residents traveling overnight to ‘Red Zones’ for non-essential reasons will be required to self-isolate for 14 days upon their return. Listuguj residents traveling for essential purposes (i.e. work, medical appointments, custody arrangements, and necessities of life) are not required to self-isolate.

We ask that you please express kindness and support to those who must travel for essential reasons. We all have a role to play in protecting the health and safety of our community. This also includes our mental health.

Remember to always wear a mask in public, continue practicing social distancing, proper cough etiquette, and good hygiene practices.
