Summary of Function:

The Listuguj Community Social Services Directorate is seeking to employ an energetic, self-motivated and responsible individual as an Intervention Support Worker. The Intervention Support Worker will work under the direct supervision of the Listuguj Community Social Services Manager of Prevention Services. The Intervention Support Worker is responsible for providing one-on-one support to participants presenting with behavioral challenges as well as those on the spectrum who may require extra support. Verbal interventions and co-regulation will be used as a means of helping return participants to their baseline during periods of dysregulation and motivate them to continue engaging in the activities being presented in our programs, services and supports. The Intervention Support Worker will provide services within the directorate with additional support to help prevent as much as possible disruptions in programming as well as to enhance participants’ overall experience in our programs.

Job Duties:

  • Be a positive role model and build meaningful relationships through positive daily interaction with the children and youth who attend various programming and implement appropriate intervention strategies when deemed necessary (i.e. Crisis intervention, problem-solving, conflict resolution, etc.)
  • Individualized mentoring and supervision using various strategies and tools aimed at motivating and assisting participants presenting with special needs or behavioral challenges in engaging in daily planned activities (i.e. emotion regulation, behavior management, etc.)
  • Facilitate participant learning individually and in small groups, motivate participants regarding their academics (i.e. homework help)
  • Communicate and collaborate with supervisors/managers to best serve participants who may present challenges
  • Assist participants and their guardians requiring extra support in establishing routines, organizational skills
  • Assist participants in identifying any barriers that may prevent them from engaging in planned activities
  • Provide direction to participants and/or participants’ guardians to further seek support and/or resources as needed
  • Collaborate and assist with the Professional Services in the planning, preparation and carrying out specific tasks identified.
  • Maintain materials, supplies, programs and activities as per LMG policy.
  • Meet as a team on a regular basis to update on a participant’s performance and to determine any solutions to help participants achieve success
  • Gather relevant information through working with the participant or participants to provide feedback on the planning process
  • Produce material and implement strategies to accommodate individual learning needs/styles

Requirements:

  • 2 years of post-secondary education in programs such as Early Childhood Development, Educational Assistance, Child and Youth Care Work, Rehabilitation Services, Personal Care Aid, ASD specialized training or equivalent post-secondary courses in a related field
  • 3 years’ experience working in a related field would be considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions
  • First Aid/CPR Certificate

Summary of Function:

The Families First Cultural Support Coordinator will assist all Home Support Workers by coordinating the services provided to the community members requiring follow up as determined by both intake and clinical supervision. The coordinator will implement, develop, and coordinate service deliverables relating to life skills financial skills development or parental concerns (but not limited to) as well as to maintain statistical records and monitor the progress of clients. The coordinator will guide confidentiality and consistency. The coordinator will, wherever possible develop workshops, assist in public awareness campaigns and support the creation and evaluation of social programs that are culturally relevant while adhering to the community-based approach.

Job Duties:

  • Provide intervention and prevention services as identified by individual service plans to prospective clientele.
  • Provide the necessary cultural supports that will assist clientele in their path to wellness. Identify and implement culturally appropriate community-based events and activities that will meet the needs of clientele and community members.
  • Research and reach out to traditional Elders and knowledge keepers to incorporate their knowledge into safe and relevant programming for clientele and community members. Adhere to the community-based approach and the system clients and sorting options and develop plans of action that are primarily client driven and centered while providing necessary support and assistance.
  • Assist the clients in locating and utilizing existing community resources including: legal, medical and financial assistance; housing, employment, transportation and assistance with rules take care and other referral services as required.

Summary of Function:

The External Buildings & Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean and well-maintained environment for students, staff and visitors, while overseeing the day-to-day management of all external building operations. This role ensures that our external assets, including the facades, roofs, grounds, and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational efficiency. The External Buildings Operations & Maintenance Manager will report to the Building and Transportation Manager.

Job Duties:

  • Plan, organize and direct administrative services such as signage, yard work, grounds maintenance, parking, safety inspections, security and snow removal.
  • Develop and realize daily, weekly, or monthly checklists of prescheduled building and equipment maintenance procedures.
  • Address external building maintenance (siding, roofing, lighting, etc.).
  • Clean and maintain entrances, walkways and other areas, working as a member of crew.
  • Co-ordinate cleaning, snow removal and landscaping operations.
  • Responsible for performing and/or coordinating estimates for snow removal contracts for all building parking lots, walkways, windows, roofs and playgrounds.
  • Landscapes of all buildings. Mowing of lawns, thinning of brush behind AGS, trimming hedges/trees, etc.
  • Contracting vendors for services (parking lot lines, air conditioning systems, signage).
  • Inspection of playground equipment and conduct repairs (playground, woodchips, etc.).
  • Ensure upkeep of outdoor night lights, security lights and cameras.
  • Parking lots.
  • Coordinate safety parking for emergency vehicles and bus access during events at AGS, Base Camp and Education Complex.

Requirements:

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent.

  • An apprenticeship certificate in one or more of the trades.

Summary of Function:

Under the supervision of the Mawo’Itijig Mijjuaji’g Director, the Intervention Support Worker (ISW) is responsible for supporting the identified child during daily activities in the childcare setting. The ISW is a part of an integrated team and will provide early intervention support to one child experiencing developmental delays. The ISW is responsible for guiding and implementing developmentally appropriate programs that are strength based, child-centered and family-directed to maximize success. The location of work for the position is at the: Mawo’Itijig Mijjuaji’g childcare centre.

Job Duties:

  • Supervises, guides, and assists the child in daily activities.
  • Supports the child, through one-on-one intervention, to full inclusion.
  • Works as part of a larger integrated team of professionals.
  • Meets quarterly with Jordan’s Principle-Listuguj, the child’s family, and other resources to review goals and assess progress and make changes to supports where needed.
  • Submits progress reports to the Jordan’s Principle team quarterly.
  • Follows professional assessment recommendations (speech and language pathologist, occupational therapist, pediatrician…etc.)
  • Plans, prepares, and implements daily activities (indoor/outdoor) as they relate to the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with VIVA Therapeutic services.
  • Must follow the child to Head Start/AGS.

Requirements:

  • Education and/or Experience: College Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Educational Assistant (EA) and/or equivalent experience.
  • ASD training is mandatory.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Ability to work well as both, part of an integrated team and independently.

  • 2 years of post-secondary education in programs such as Early Childhood Development, Educational Assistance, Child and Youth Care Work, Rehabilitation Services, Personal Care Aid, ASD specialized training or equivalent post-secondary courses in a related field
  • 3 years’ experience working in a related field would be considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions
  • First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • Ability to pass a criminal background/Vulnerable Sector check.
