The Listuguj Veterans Memorial Committee (LVMC) has met and decided that due to the community safety risks surrounding COVID-19 there will be no community dinner held this year on November 11, 2020.
Instead, to honor the veterans this year, the committee has decided to develop a 2021 calendar that will feature our veterans.
If you wish to have a family members or friend who is a Listuguj veteran featured in the calendar, please send all pictures to the email listugujveterans@gmail.com. Please include with the picture:
1) the full name of the veteran
2) the name of the war they fought in, and
3) any other information you wish to highlight (ie. Rank, honors, etc.).
Additionally, on November 11, 2020, from 11:00am to 3:00pm, the LVMC will be hosting an event where community members can bring their personal photos of community veterans and have them scanned to be featured in the calendar. The event will take place at the Veterans Memorial Building on Pacific Drive, across from the LMDC building. Please note, only 1 person will be allowed into the building at a time. All COVID-19 protocols, including wearing of masks, hand sanitizing, and social distancing must be respected.
We thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to continuing honoring and memorializing our community veterans in the years to come.
On behalf of the Listuguj Veterans Memorial Committee,
Thank you

Friday, October 23, 2020 – The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government (LMG) is announcing one (1) new confirmed case and one (1) recovered case of COVID-19. The total number of active cases in Listuguj is one.
The LMG and Quebec Public Health are working collaboratively to monitor the situation closely and to provide on-going support to those affected. At this time, Quebec Public Health has determined that there is no risk to community members and residents, as the individual has been at home self-isolating.
The LMG can confirm, with the consent of the individuals who have tested positive, that the new positive case is directly related to the first and is contained to that single household. Members of the household are currently in isolation and are taking every step to contain the virus. We thank them for their on-going efforts in helping us keep each other safe.
We are pleased to report that the first individual who tested positive for COVID-19 has recovered. At this time, they will continue to self-isolate at home.
This is a reminder to all community members and residents of the importance of following the recommended Public Health advice:
