Summary of Function:

The Listuguj Cannabis Control Office Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the creation of regulations, terms of reference and policies for the Listuguj Cannabis Control Office. The Listuguj Cannabis Control Office Coordinator will present all documentation to the LCCO for final approval. The Listuguj Cannabis Control Office Coordinator will form and oversee a strategy to implement the licensing process for the LCCO along with the operating regulations.

Job Duties:

  • Develop, regulations, policies, administrative structure and terms of reference for the LCCO.
  • Develop regulations, policies and terms of reference according to the Listuguj Cannabis Law.
  • Provide guidance and direction to public relations agency partners and review all LMG public relations materials to ensure communication is accurate, relevant and consistent with the Listuguj Mi’gmaq brand and overall organization messaging and positions.
  • Lead responsibility for all internal communications initiatives.
  • Liaison and collaborate with employee groups and cross-functional teams as needed and help provide creative solutions to communication problems.
  • Advise the Executive Office on issues when required.
  • Gather research, edit and finalize cannabis related material for internal and external audiences.
  • Develop reports, briefs, presentations and other administrative requirements of the LCCO.
  • Develop and organize workshops, meetings, and other events for the LCCO.
  • Initiate and maintain contact with local, regional and national governments.
  • Arrange interviews and news conferences when required.

Requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience related to policy development and enforcement.
  • The ability to converse in French and/or Mi’gmaq Language is an asset.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background/Vulnerable Sector check.

Summary of Function:

Summary of Function:

Summary of Function:

Under the supervision of the AGS Principal, and with direction from the Office Manager, the receptionist shall maintain a professional and courteous attitude to all visitors, guests and staff of AGS. The individual is accountable for efficiently and effectively managing the administration office area at AGS.

 

Job Duties:

  • Provide office support services to the Principal, Office Manager, and the AGS staff to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the AGS.
  • Greeting visitors who come into the offices and direct them to the appropriate staff or services and provide basic information when required.
  • Operate the Switchboard to answer, screen and forward telephone calls, take messages and provide basic information as required.
  • Make announcements as required.
  • Sort, stamp, copy and distribute in-coming mail to appropriate staff.

  • Under the direction of the Principal and/or Office Manager, maintain a daily log of staff arrival and departure time on field trips.
  • Support the maintenance of time sheets.
  • Support the Office Manager with receiving daily phone calls from staff and tracking sick time in a confidential and professional manner.
  • Order office supplies when needed.
  • Provide typing, photocopying, and faxing services when required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Mi’gmaq language would be an asset.
  • Three (3) years of direct work experience in a receptionist capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of general office procedures involving procurement, travel arrangements, budget management, and so on.
  • Proficient use of various office-based software including Microsoft Office 2007.
  • Able to write simple correspondence, including memos, letters, etc.
  • Adjusts and are flexible to meet changing work needs and demands.
  • Meticulous records maintenance skills.
  • Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Assist in preparing program budgets
  • Prepare funding application and reports

Requirements:

  • Minimum B.A. level or equivalent in Social Work, Community Development, Law or Criminology plus relevant training and experience in group development, counseling and/or advocacy

  • Must possess good communication, writing and interpersonal skills

Summary of Function:

Under the supervision of the Mawo’Itijig Mijjuaji’g Director, the Intervention Support Worker (ISW) is responsible for supporting the identified child during daily activities in the childcare setting. The ISW is a part of an integrated team and will provide early intervention support to one child experiencing developmental delays. The ISW is responsible for guiding and implementing developmentally appropriate programs that are strength based, child-centered and family-directed to maximize success. The location of work for the position is at the: Mawo’Itijig Mijjuaji’g childcare centre.

Job Duties:

  • Supervises, guides, and assists the child in daily activities.
  • Supports the child, through one-on-one intervention, to full inclusion.
  • Works as part of a larger integrated team of professionals.
  • Meets quarterly with Jordan’s Principle-Listuguj, the child’s family, and other resources to review goals and assess progress and make changes to supports where needed.
  • Submits progress reports to the Jordan’s Principle team quarterly.
  • Follows professional assessment recommendations (speech and language pathologist, occupational therapist, pediatrician…etc.)
  • Plans, prepares, and implements daily activities (indoor/outdoor) as they relate to the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with VIVA Therapeutic services.
  • Must follow the child to Head Start/AGS.

Requirements:

  • Education and/or Experience: College Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Educational Assistant (EA) and/or equivalent experience.
  • ASD training is mandatory.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Ability to work well as both, part of an integrated team and independently.
  • Administrative requirements to be able to properly fill out observation forms and create a summary of child needs.
  • Experience working with children with special needs or willing to take training.
  • Must submit a Vulnerable Records Check.
