Request for Proposal – Healing Arbour

We would like to invite head carpenters to submit a proposal to construct the Healing Arbour near the former Busteed House as shown in the sketches linked below.

The proposal must include the following items:

  1. Price for construction work (Not Including Material) to include the following :
  • Loading and offloading material
  • Construction of post holes for foundation
  • Perform all the carpentry work to complete the work as per the sketch

2. Project Duration

 

Please submit your proposal to councillor.chad@listuguj.ca no later than July 17, 2020.

Community Notice – Wearing Masks in Public

The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government would like to inform community members and residents that starting Saturday, July 18th, it will be mandatory to wear a mask in indoor spaces, grocery stores, banks, pharmacies, and businesses. This new measure will be in effect until further notice.

To help you prepare, we would like to once again share the following resources:

Chief Gray has Positive Discussion with Premier Higgs

 

The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government would like to notify community members that on July 10, 2020 Chief Gray received a phone call from Premier Higgs in regards to access to New Brunswick.

Through this conversation there were potential solutions to the current border issue proposed that might pose significantly positive results for Listuguj and the surrounding communities.

Chief Gray also received support from other Ministers of NB, who are supporting the inclusion of Listuguj within the “Atlantic bubble” and more details will be available as soon as possible.

Recycling Bin Inspection Day

There will be a recycling bin inspection day on July 10th, 2020 starting at 9:00 A.M. For those with their recycling bins out on the curb, they will be rated on if everything in the bin is recyclable and if the bin is well positioned on the curb. Notes will be written down and placed on the doorknob if there is anything in the bin that doesn’t belong in the recycling. Items that are accepted in the recycling bin are as follows:

  • Paper and cardboard (Ex: boxes, milk and juice cartons, paper bags, paper, envelopes, etc.)
  • Glass (Ex: bottles, mason jars, etc.)
  • Metals (Aluminium plates, foil, cans, etc.)
  • Plastics (Anything that has the label of 1,2,3,4,5,7)

Non stretchable or metallic plastics are not accepted in the recycling bin. Spray cans, paint cans and any other household hazardous waste are not accepted in the recycling bin. However, if you need to dispose of them, they can be brought to the public works building where they will be disposed of properly. If you have any other questions about where to bring bulky waste or what is accepted in the recycling bin, contact Public Works at 418-788-3047.
