Job description
The FNEC is looking for a policy analyst to conduct research activities on rights and positions defended by First Nations in relation to existing education legislation and policies at the international, national, regional and local level. The policy analyst’s studies and fact-finding reports contribute to clearly determining the directions and positions that best represent the interests of all member communities so that the FNEC can bring them to the attention of various decision-making bodies, committees and task forces.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in social sciences, human sciences or law (preferably in a field related to education or First Nations), and at least five years of experience in a similar Any combination of equivalent training and experience will be considered.
- Proficiency in one of Canada’s two official languages and a very good understanding of the other.
Particular conditions
Some travelling is required to places that are easily accessible, no more than seven times a year and seldom exceeding a 48-hour stay. On rare occasions, one or two trips to remote areas may be required.
Working conditions
We offer competitive working conditions: group insurance, pension fund, Christmas holidays, flexible cultural holidays, three weeks of annual vacation time, sick leave, possibility of regular or episodic telework, work schedule options available, summer schedule, etc.

Work description
The FNEC is looking for a counsellor to ensure post-secondary project funding available to First Nations communities is effectively managed. The counsellor assists the communities in developing post-secondary training initiatives and program management policies. The counsellor also plays a key role in establishing and maintaining contact with post-secondary education coordinators and leaders in the communities, and supports the communities in strengthening partnerships with post-secondary institutions.

Travel to all work zones is an integral part of this position, for a period of 48 hours or more, two times per month or more.

Position Summary:
The NALMA Finance and Administrative Support (FAS) will provide a high level of financial and administrative support services to the overall operations of NALMA Administration.
Under the immediate supervision of the Finance and Senior Officer and secondary supervision of the Executive Director and or designate the Finance and Administrative Support will:

Mission
Following a decision by the Chiefs, two representatives of First Nations youth, a young man and a young woman, now sit at the Table of Chiefs. Without exercising a right to vote, these two representatives are called upon to express themselves on all the issues dealt with by the Table of Chiefs. Youth representatives are elected by First Nations youth who attend an annual meeting of the Quebec-Labrador First Nations Youth Network.
The mission of the Quebec-Labrador First Nations Youth Network is to inform and support First Nations youth between the ages of 15 and 35 on opportunities (programs, services, projects, activities, events, employment, training, etc.) being offered to them. The main objective of the Network is to support the creation of youth committees in Aboriginal communities, to enable youth to develop a common voice and develop community wellness projects. It also aims to promote the civic participation of First Nations youth in their communities.
