Confirmed Case of COVID-19 in Listuguj

Confirmed Case of COVID-19 in Listuguj

August 9, 2021 – On the evening of August 7, 2021, Quebec Public Health notified the Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government that a community member tested positive for COVID-19. Quebec Public Health is currently conducting contact tracing to identify people who have been in close contact with the individual who tested positive.

Be advised, if you had your first vaccine ONLY, and have been in contact with someone who has tested positive with COVID-19, you need to be tested.

Again, contact tracing is currently underway. For those who have been in close contact with the individual QC Public Health will contact you directly, and you will be asked to self-isolate and monitor for symptoms to limit any potential spread. The individual who tested positive is self-isolating, and their health will be monitored by public health.  The Listuguj Community Health Services will provide support to families directly affected.

We want to remind our community members and residents that what we need now more than ever is to practice mindfulness and compassion. The virus is a disease that does not discriminate.

On behalf of the Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government, we wish this community member a swift and full recovery.
