Caplin Road Construction Partial Road Closure

To maintain site safety and to allow the contractor to complete the work efficiently, it is required to close a short section of Caplin Road to through traffic not including residents. Residents in this section of the road will be accommodated throughout the closure. The section of Caplin Road that will be closed for approximately three (3) days is located just south of Alder Street to Riverside East Road on Caplin Road (see attached map).

The road closure is scheduled for Today, August 31st, 2021 around 12:00 PM and should be complete by the end of September 9th, 2021.

We recognize that the planned work will be an inconvenience, and your patience during these upgrades is greatly appreciated.

COVID-19 Case UPDATE

August 27,2021. UPDATE:

Public Health will be contacting members of our community for COVID-19 tracing for those who have been in contact with the individual who has a positive case. Those in close contact can be tested in the next two days at the CLSC in Point-a-La-Croix screening facility which will be open Saturday August 28th, 2021 and Sunday August 29th, 2021 from  9:00 AM-5:ooPM for each day. The CLSC is located at 48 Bd Interprovincial, No appointment necessary.

If you believe you have been in contact with the COVID-19 case recently, please call the Public Health number is 1-877-644-4545.

It is important to continue to maintain physical distancing, wear a face mask, wash your hands frequently, practice respiratory etiquette, and find an alternative greeting.

We will continue to monitor the situation and keep our community updated as it develops.

Positive Covid-19 Case Within Listuguj

August 27,2021. The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government has been informed that there has been another positive Covid-19 case discovered within our community. Those who have been in contact with the individual have been contact traced and tested negative thus far.
 
It is important to continue to maintain physical distancing, wear a face mask, wash your hands frequently, practice respiratory etiquette, and find an alternative greeting.
We will continue to monitor the situation and keep our community updated as it develops.

Water Test in Listuguj

Due to the repairs made over the weekend to the water pipes, a water-boil advisory was issued.

However, the water has since been tested for potability and the results demonstrate that that the water is safe for drinking.

As a result, there is no longer a need to boil drinking water

Water Pressure Update

IMPORTANT UPDATE: A broken flange located in the main water well feeding the community was the cause of the low water pressure. It has now been repaired. However, as a precautionary measure, please do not drink the water unless it has been fully boiled. Tomorrow, the water will be tested for potability.
We will continue to update our community as it progresses.

Listuguj Water Pressure Update

UPDATE: The water pressure issue has been located by Public Works as a crack in the well system and is currently being addressed. Water works will be shut down at 2:00pm today, August 21,2021 to be maintained. In the meantime we strongly advise everyone in our community to stock up on water from now until 2:00pm when water will be shut off. Fill containers and any receptacle (bathtub, bucket…) before 2:00pm. We will keep you updated as we proceed to resolve this issue.

Local Water Pressure Issue

An important notice that Listuguj is currently experiencing a drop in water pressure. This was identified last night by the Public Works Department .

Public Works have been addressing the issue since midnight last night August 21st, 2021. They have been working to identify the problem and they will continue to do so today.

Public works, Pubic Security and Administration will continue to collaborate on the situation and keep you updated as progress develops.
