Water Interruption and Precautionary Boil Water Advisory

Water Interruption and Precautionary Boil Water Advisory

Pacific Drive Water Shut-Off

Date: November 9th, 2021

Affected Areas:

  • Pacific Street from Lnu to Pacific.

On Tuesday November 9th, 2021, it is required to close existing water valves on Pacific Drive to isolate and install a new watermain connection as part of the new reservoir project. As a result, the water service at your residence will be affected. The water will be shut-off from approximately 8:00am to 6:00pm on Tuesday, November 9th, 2021.

As a protective measure, beginning Tuesday November 9th, at 8:00am, a precautionary boil water advisory will be placed in effect by Listuguj for the localized area (Pacific to Lnu). Please also note that the boil water advisory will remain in effect following the work and until further notice. During a boil water advisory, it is necessary to follow the following instructions:

** During a boil water advisory, it is important that all water destined for drinking, preparing infant formulas and juices, making ice cubes, washing fruits and vegetables, cooking and dental hygiene be held at a rolling boil for 1 minute. Adults, adolescents, and older children may shower, bathe or wash using tap water but should avoid swallowing the water. Toddlers and infants should be sponged bathed and caregivers need to ensure no water is drunk or swallowed.  Dishes and laundry may be washed in tap water, either by hand or by machine. **

Once normal operation resumes, it is recommended to circulate the water in your home for a period of 5 to 10 minutes.

We apologize for any inconvenience and request your cooperation in this matter while Listuguj continues to complete required upgrades to the water system that will ensure safe, clean drinking water for the residents of Listuguj.

Sincerely,

Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government
