Important Notice to AGS Parents/Guardians

 

December 8th, 2021 – The Alaqsite’w Gitpu School (AGS) has been notified of a possible exposure in the Grade 1 – English class that occurred today, December 8th, 2021.

 

Public Health will contact all those who have been exposed and will provide isolation and testing instructions.

 

Keeping in line with Public Health protocols and AGS’s additional precautionary and preventative measures:

  • All students in Grades 1 – English, must not report to school until December 20th, 2021. AGS will provide home learning during this time period.

Additionally, as an IMPORTANT REMINDER for households impacted by COVID cases and/or exposure to COVID:

 

While you may not have been directed to isolate or have completed your isolation period, “limited interaction” is necessary when members of your household are still within their isolation period.

 

For those staff/students and parents, given that it is not possible to “limit interaction” at a school, you must not report to work/school for the duration of the isolation period(s) within your household regardless of your vaccination status.

 

Pointe a la Croix COVID-19 Testing Update

Quebec Public Health wishes to inform Listuguj community members seeking COVID-19 that the testing clinic at the Pointe a la Croix CLSC has been moved to the building across from Pastali (Old York Gym) on Highway 132.

The garage at the CLSC will no longer be utilized for out-of-community testing. To arrange a test, please call 1877-644-4545.

The Listuguj Unified Command is reporting 1 new case within the community for Wednesday, December 07, 2021.

The active case count is now 10. Listuguj remains in Alert Level 1 (Green).

We ask that community members continue to follow public health guidelines (masks, handwashing, sanitizing & social distancing).

COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Reminder:

A reminder to community members that a vaccination clinic for youth ages 5 – 11 will be available from the Listuguj Community Health Services.

For parents considering, they can contact either Erika Desrochers or Caroline Jacques to schedule your child’s appointment or to answer any questions you have concerning vaccinations.

COVID-19 Testing Clinic (Listuguj):

The Listuguj Community Health Services offers COVID-19 tests during operational hours from Monday to Thursday for community members seeking to get tested. Tests are scheduled by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, please call 418-788-2155.

Community Notice: Extended Closure of ASP, tween/teen nights and weekend program, weight room at Listuguj Youth & Family Center

*PUBLIC NOTICE*

Given the current Covid-19 situation in the community, a team decision has been made, and the closure of the Youth and Family Center (ASP, tween/teen nights and weekend program, weight room) has been extended for the remainder of the week as a precautionary and preventative measure. The situation will be reassessed on Monday, December 13th. We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your consideration as we work with a very vulnerable population in these times. Again, we wish those affected a swift and full recovery. Let’s work together to slow the spread in our community.

Message for ASP parents: The fee for this week has been waived. If you already paid in advance, no worries, your payment will be pushed forward a week. Also, our team will be going out tomorrow to drop a little something off for participants who were unable to attend the program this week.

LMG Closed due to deteriorating weather conditions

Due to the deteriorating weather & road conditions, we will be closing all LMG Buildings effective immediately.

We strongly urge that community members drive with caution if required to travel.

Keeping in line with Public Health protocols and following lead of AGS’s additional precautionary and preventative measures, we are sorry to inform that the Listuguj Youth and Family Center (ASP, tween/teen night programs, and weight room) will be closed for the next two days given the current Covid-19 situation in the community. We wish all those affected a quick and speedy recovery.

COVID-19 Update December 05, 2021

December 5th, 2021 – The Alaqsite’w Gitpu School (AGS) has been notified of an additional possible exposure in the Grade 7 – French Immersion class that occurred during the week of November 29th, 2021.

The CLSC is open today, December 5th, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Listuguj time for all household members of staff and students in grades 7-English, 7-French Immersion, and Nursery – Mi’gmaw Immersion to get tested.

Public Health is contacting all those who have been exposed and will provide isolation instructions.

Keeping in line with Public Health protocols and AGS’s additional precautionary and preventative measures:

AGS students in all grades will have home learning for two days starting tomorrow. Home learning is on Monday, December 6th and Tuesday, December 7th. All Students include:

-Nursery to Grade 8 – English

-Nursery to Grade 4 – Mi’gmaw Immersion, and

-Grade 3 to Grade 8 – French Immersion

All students and staff in the Grades 7-English, 7-French Immersion, and Nursery – Mi’gmaw Immersion must not report to school/work until December 13th, 2021. AGS will provide home learning for those classes for the full week (Dec 6 – 10).
