Curbs and Sidewalks to be Installed Monday September 20th Caplin Road

An important notice that the construction work on Caplin Road will begin the installation of concrete curb and concrete sidewalks as of Monday September 20th, 2021. To complete the preparation and installation of curbs and sidewalks, residents along Caplin Road will temporarily lose access to their driveways.

We ask that all residents on Caplin Road to follow these directions:

  1. Between the hours of 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM during the week, all vehicles must be out of their driveway and parked anywhere else than on Caplin Road. Possible parking locations include all side streets along Caplin Road.
  2. Between the hours of 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, vehicles can be parked on the West side of Caplin Road along the shoulder/concrete curb.

We understand this will be an inconvenience and we appreciate the patience of the residents of Caplin Road. Having a clear path without any vehicles on Caplin Road will accelerate the curb and sidewalk installation and reduce the amount of time that the construction will affect residents.

Please note that any vehicles that are not moved prior during installation may be stuck up to 5 days until the concrete has cured as required.

An Englobe employee will be always on site to coordinate with homeowners and answer questions. Any special requirements should be communicated to Englobe Employee Stephane Landry at 1-506-260-5095. We will update information once construction activities have concluded and driveway access is no longer impeded.

Access will be restricted to the Alaqsite’w Gitpu School on Thursday September 30th, 2021 to Friday October 1st, 2021 only. For all other days, both access points at AGS will be accessible to all vehicles.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at the numbers below.

Sincerely,

Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government

Listuguj moves up to Alert Level 2 – Yellow

September 10, 2021 – Quebec Public Health has confirmed that the number of positive COVID-19 cases in the community of Listuguj has jumped to 15 overnight.  This number is expected to climb as more community members undergo COVID-19 testing both at the CLSC and the in-community Testing Site.

Unfortunately, this is the highest number of confirmed cases since the ‘outbreak’ during Christmas, 2020.  Sadly, many of these new cases are our children, under the age of 12 who are not eligible to receive the vaccination.

Quebec Public Health continues with it’s ‘contact tracing’ efforts to determine the streams of this recent outbreak in our community.  It is important for community members contacted by QC Public Health to follow their instructions.

The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government Unified Command is moving the community of Listuguj up to COVID-19 Alert Level 2: Early Warning.  This protective measure is required when COVID-19 transmission starts to increase. Basis measures will be strengthened, and further action taken to promote and encourage compliance.

What this means for everyone:

  • All LMG Directors and Private Business owners are required to review their specific COVID-19 plans with their staff.
  • LMG employees will meet with community members / public “by appointment only’”.
  • Everyone entering an LMG Building must wear a mask while circulating around the building and in common areas.
  • Community Gatherings are considered higher-risk activities, and are prohibited until further notice.

FOLLOW PUBLIC HEALTH GUIDELINES

  • Physical distancing
  • Face covering
  • Hand washing
  • Respiratory etiquette
  • Alternative greeting practices

We don’t wear a mask to protect ourselves … we wear a mask to protect our family, our friends and our community.

COVID-19 Health Protocol Reminder

This is an important reminder to help prevent and reduce the spread of COVID-19 within our community. Please continue to practice standard COVID-19 health protocols.

That is: wear a mask, maintain good hand hygiene by washing regularly and use hand sanitizer, when necessary, practice social distancing, be mindful of respiratory etiquette (coughing, sneezing…) and to find alternative greeting methods.
