New Brunswick Public Health has notified the Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government of a New Brunswick resident who has tested positive for COVID-19 and who has recently met with Listuguj residents. They have coordinated with Quebec Public Health to conduct contact tracing. As a result, some community members may be contacted to determine next steps. These next steps could include COVID-19 testing or additional protective measures.
To protect the individual’s privacy, details including names, will not be released. Public Health and the Listuguj Community Health Services will continue to monitor this situation closely, and we will provide timely updates as they happen.

The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government would like to remind community members and residents that it is mandatory for people aged 10 and over to wear a mask in public indoor spaces, grocery stores, banks, pharmacies, and businesses. We ask that all community members and residents accessing services at LMG buildings wear a mask.
When accessing services at the band office, we also ask that you make an appointment before your visit. Appointments can be made directly with the person you intend to meet. Our staff will provide you with further instruction before your arrival.
