The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government is looking fresh salmon donations for Migwite’tm. The 40-year commemoration event will take place next Friday, June 11, 2021. LCHS Vaccine Update – Youth Aged 12 to 17

To Parents and Guardians,

The Listuguj Community Health Center (LCHS) is pleased to announce that the Pfizer Covid Vaccine will be available for youth from 12 to 17 years of age.

Our vaccination clinic for this age group will be held in the community at the Listuguj Community Health Center on June 10th, 2021.

Our clinic will run from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., by appointment only. 

Consent is required. Consent forms will be available to parents next week. If you would like to receive a consent form, please contact Jennifer Caplin, Erika Desrochers or Caroline Jacques at 418-788-2155. Consent forms can also be picked up at the Health Center.

Consent forms must be filled out and signed by parents and or legal guardians for children 12-13 years of age.

If you have any questions regarding the Covid-19 vaccine or need assistance to fill out the consent form, please give us a call.

Deadline Tomorrow – Listuguj Community Cultural Leadership Initiative (LCCLI)

UPDATE: The deadline has been extended to Friday, June 4, 2021.


Deadline for applications is tomorrow!

The LCCLI is recruiting 10 Listugujewaq Youth (ages 19-25) to participate in a 12-week in community leadership program. Program start date: Monday, June 7, 2021, at 8:30 am.

Through the program, participants will:

  • Learn valuable teachings from respected Elders and Community Knowledge Holders
  • Build and add to their bundles (e.g., through teachings)
  • Have access to certified training opportunities (e.g., Mental Health First Aid)
  • Receive meaningful work placements to gain experience in their desired fields
  • Participate in community events

Application deadline is Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 4:30 pm. To apply, please send your cover letter and resume to LMGHR@listuguj.ca.

Natural Resources and Capital and Infrastructure Remain Open – Phones/Internet Down

The phones and internet at the Natural Resources and Capital and Infrastructure building are currently not working. They will remain open as they work to fix this issue. If you need to reach them, please visit them directly at 44 Dundee Road.

The week of Tuesday, May 25th through Friday, May 28th, the following services will be available to the community by calling the telephone numbers indicated or for individual/family supports by appointment at 418-788-3039:

  • Our sister community Eskasoni First Nation has provided us with their 24/7 Crisis Support Line at 1-902-379-2099 or 1-902-379-2910.
  • Please call 811 in Quebec for 24/7 Crisis Support or if you just need to talk.
  • Restigouche Family Services is available by appointment at 506-753-4161
  • Haven House remains available 24/7 for additional after-hours crisis support by calling 418-788-5544.
  • Families First Support Services is available 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at 418-788-2010.

As the Listuguj Community Health Services (LCHS) remained open today, they will be closed on Friday, May 21, 2021 for a day of reflection.  Essential services will continue to operate unless otherwise instructed by their supervisor.  The LCHS will re-open on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.

LCHS Still Open for COVID-19 Immunizations

The Listuguj Community Health Services (LCHS) will remain open tomorrow for those who have an appointment for their 2nd dose of the Moderna vaccine. If you have an appointment on Thursday, May 20th, please go to the LCHS as scheduled.

Based on feedback from the community and consideration from Council, the Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government will be closed tomorrow, May 20, 2021 for another day of reflection.
