Attention Community Members!

The Natural Resources Directorate, in collaboration with Capital and Infrastructure, is currently requesting quotes for snow removal services at the building located at 44 Dundee.

The scope of work includes the removal of snow from the roof as well as clearing snow away from all entrances and windows upon completion.

Interested contractors are invited to submit their quotes to capital@listuguj.ca no later than Friday, January 23, 2026.

Chief and Council, alongside The Listuguj Mi’gmag Government, would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Wysote family on the passing of former Councillor Nellie Wysote, beloved wife of former Chief Jack Jegops’n Wysote.

Nellie was a respected elder, educator and community leader. Some of the contributions to the community include

· Education and Language: Collaborated as a lesson developer for the Learn Mi’gmaq Initiative, working with the Listuguj Education Directorate and McGill University to preserve and teach the Mi’gmaq language

· Land-Based Learning: She was instrumental in founding Nipugtugewei (Forest Kindergarten) at Alaqsite’w Gitpu School.

· Community Leadership: Under the administration of former Chief Brenda Gedeon, Nellie served as a Councillor from 1994 to 1996. Nellie was often involved with community events

We’d like to take the time to acknowledge and honour the late Nellie Wysote, who passed away on January 13, 2026. Nellie will be remembered for her strength, kindness and the love she shared with her family and the community. Her support alongside her late husband Chief Jack Jegops’n Wysote leadership was deeply valued, and her legacy will continue through the lives and memories she leaves behind.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Wysote Family during these difficult times.

The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government (LMG), in partnership with Parks Canada, is launching an initiative to reimagine the Battle of the Restigouche Museum with Parks Canada. Our goals include:

* Including Mi’gmaq perspectives at the Battle of the Restigouche museum

* Expanding the historic designation to include treaty-making and Mi’gmaq perspectives;

* Exploring co-management of Mi’gmaq representation

* Returning the ‘museum lands’ to Listuguj (these lands have never been surrendered)

You are invited to bid on the construction of the new Listuguj Band Office building.

The Listuguj Band Office is a new 2-storey building that will house government offices and meeting rooms.  The project is located at the corner of Caplin Road and Milita’j Street, Listuguj, QC.

The project is posted on Merx, SEAO and will be sent to the NB Construction Association.

Substantial Completion is set for March 31^st, 2027.

The closing date for this tender is January 15^th, 2026 at 3PM Atlantic Time.
