Family Support Tree

The Family Support Tree was developed by the “Family Centered Circle of Care” program under the Listuguj Community Social Services Directorate (LCSSD).
The Family Support Tree is a tool used to assist and support families in times of crisis. Solutions developed by families are more often effective than those given by professionals. Community members can add their trusted family members names on the tree.
Our community grows stronger when families support each other. Recognizing the signs of a crisis early and accessing professional support is crucial for mitigating long term negative effects.
LCSSD will be handing out magnets and dry-erase markers for you to customize your Family Support Tree with your dependable family members’ contact information! See example below!
For more information, contact Manager of Family Centered Circle, Lee Barnaby at 418-788-3039.

2026 Atlantic Policy Congress: Honoring Listuguj Excellence

Good Morning Community Members!

The 2026 Atlantic Policy Congress honored two Mi’gmaq individuals from Listuguj at its Fisheries Conference in Halifax on January 29. The Natural Resources Directorate (NRD) would like to congratulate Dave Martin and Kristy May Barnaby and share their words with the community.

Dave Martin: Excellence in Aquaculture

“It is an honor and a privilege to receive this award; it’s an important recognition for our community. Listuguj is home to the largest scallop farm in the Province of Quebec, and it continues to expand every season. Scallop farming is more than a business; it’s a positive financial contribution to our community.

This award belongs to the team: Cody Guitard, Tammy Duguay, Nathan Duguay, Eric Bujold, and his sons. I couldn’t do it without them. I would also like to thank the Listuguj Fisheries administration for their guidance, patience, and contributions over the years. Through hard work and initiative, anything is possible. It is paramount that those who can lead, lead by example.

For those who would like to be a part of this rewarding endeavor, I invite you to speak with Listuguj Fisheries to see if this is the right path for you. If you enjoy life on the water and the hard work that comes with it, this is the job for you.”

Kristy May Barnaby: Young Fisher of the Year

“First, I would like to thank the Natural Resources team for nominating me for the ‘Young Fisher of the Year’ at the 2026 Atlantic Policy Conference on Fisheries.

I feel so honored to receive this award. I had an incredible opportunity working with an amazing crew during last year’s snow crab and lobster seasons, which allowed me to learn so much.

My experience on and off the boat gives me hope that the younger generation won’t be afraid to join the ranks. I loved being out on the water, connecting with Mother Nature, and experiencing the different environments.”

Important Community Notice!

Important Community Notice!

The Post Office would like to remind the community of the importance of having the correct address on all your mail. There are changes coming in the future months that may affect the delivery of your incoming mail if your address is wrong or incomplete.

We will be undergoing renovations to add enough boxes so that every household or business will have their own box. Our sorting will no longer go by name, but ADDRESS ONLY.

When fixing your address, please DO NOT put your box number on it. Everyone will receive a new box that will be attached to your civic address. If you have mail that is stamped “update your address” please make sure you do so in a timely manner.

With tax season just around the corner, now is the time to make sure all your federal and provincial information is up to date. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact the Post Office for more information.
