Curbs and Sidewalks to be Installed Monday September 20th Caplin Road

An important notice that the construction work on Caplin Road will begin the installation of concrete curb and concrete sidewalks as of Monday September 20th, 2021. To complete the preparation and installation of curbs and sidewalks, residents along Caplin Road will temporarily lose access to their driveways.

We ask that all residents on Caplin Road to follow these directions:

  1. Between the hours of 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM during the week, all vehicles must be out of their driveway and parked anywhere else than on Caplin Road. Possible parking locations include all side streets along Caplin Road.
  2. Between the hours of 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, vehicles can be parked on the West side of Caplin Road along the shoulder/concrete curb.

We understand this will be an inconvenience and we appreciate the patience of the residents of Caplin Road. Having a clear path without any vehicles on Caplin Road will accelerate the curb and sidewalk installation and reduce the amount of time that the construction will affect residents.

Please note that any vehicles that are not moved prior during installation may be stuck up to 5 days until the concrete has cured as required.

An Englobe employee will be always on site to coordinate with homeowners and answer questions. Any special requirements should be communicated to Englobe Employee Stephane Landry at 1-506-260-5095. We will update information once construction activities have concluded and driveway access is no longer impeded.

Access will be restricted to the Alaqsite’w Gitpu School on Thursday September 30th, 2021 to Friday October 1st, 2021 only. For all other days, both access points at AGS will be accessible to all vehicles.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at the numbers below.

Sincerely,

Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government

Alaqsite’w Gitpu School Health and Safety Message

This is an important message from the Alaqsite’w Gitpu School to all staff, students and parents of households impacted by Covid-19 cases and/or exposure to Covid-19.
While you may not have been directed to isolate or have completed your isolation period, “limited interaction” is necessary when members of your household are still within their isolation period.

For those staff/students and parents, given that it is not possible to “limit interaction” at a school, you must not report to work/school for the duration of the isolation period(s) within your household.

Parents can email Jeff Grass at jgrass@lete.listuguj.ca, or call the school at 418-788-3100 for more information.
