COVID-19 Update – January 8, 2021
The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government is confirming two (2) new cases of COVID-19 today, bringing the total of active cases in Listuguj to 18.
The individuals who tested positive received their results while they were already in isolation. This is an example of why it is important to self-isolate for the entire 14-day period or until cleared by Quebec Public Health.
Once again, we want to thank everyone who has followed our measures to date. This is proof that by taking the added precautions we can limit the risk of community spread. Your efforts do not go unnoticed.
COVID testing is still available for Listuguj residents, without an appointment, from Monday to Friday from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (NB Time). CLSC requires that you limit one person per vehicle for drive-ins. Alternatively, you can make a COVID Testing appointment by calling 1 (877) 644-4545.
Please continue to wear a mask in public, avoid gatherings, practice social distancing, wash your hands regularly, and clean frequently touched surfaces in your home. If you have travelled from a ‘Red Zone’, you are required to self-isolate upon entry. Listuguj residents traveling to a ‘Red Zone’ for a day trip for essential purposes (i.e. work, school, medical appointments, custody arrangements, and necessities of life) are not required to self-isolate but must follow health and safety measures listed on our website.
