Chief and Council Meet with Canada’s Economic Development – Quebec

Yesterday members of Chief and Council met with two federal government Ministers, Diane LeBouthillier (Minister of Fisheries Ocean and Canadian Coast Guards) and Martinez Ferrada (Minister of Tourism of Canada – responsible for Economic Development) at an event in Gesgapegiag.
Chief Scott Martin expressed Listuguj’s appreciation to Canada’s Economic Development – Quebec (CED-Q), for their financial support of our Community Garden Program.
Thanks to the continuous efforts of the Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government and CED-Q, our community garden program has seen significant advancements including:
-Two new greenhouse growing facilities
– A self-sustaining 26-kilowatt solar farm
– A refrigerated container unit
-A second water well
-Storage containers with a new dome.
Contributions from CED-Q totaling over $1,170,000 for two indigenous communities in Gaspesie Region. (Listuguj and Gesgapegiag.)

Offers signed under seal, executed, dated and marked “TERMINAL 3 FENDER INSTALLATION” will  be  received  until  2:00  p.m.  (local  time),  August  2,  2024,  via  email  at tenders@portbelledune.ca. Opening of tenders will follow immediately; however, the opening will not be open to the public.

Each offer must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the total Bid price, executed in the favour of the Belledune Port Authority. The successful Bidder will have to submit to the Owner, at the time of the contract execution, a Performance Bond and a Labour and Material Payment Bond, each equal to 50% of the Contract amount.

The Bidding procedures shall be defined under the “Instructions to Bidders” section of the tender document. Bidders will be required to register at https://www.portbelledune.ca/services/rfps-tenders to obtain the bid documents. Registrations will be accepted starting July 12, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. (local time).

The Belledune Port Authority reserves the right to accept or reject any or all offers. The lowest/highest or any qualified tender will not necessarily be accepted.

Les soumissions signées, datées et identifiées « Installation de défenses – Terminal 3 » seront reçues par courriel à tenders@portbelledune.ca jusqu’au 2 août 2024 à 14 h (heure locale). Le traitement des soumissions se déroulera immédiatement après la fermeture de la période d’appel d’offres, mais ne sera pas ouverte au public.

Chaque soumission doit être accompagnée d’un bon de cautionnement au montant de 10 % du total de la soumission, payable à l’Administration portuaire de Belledune. Le soumissionnaire retenu devra remettre au propriétaire, au moment de l’exécution du contrat, un cautionnement d’exécution et un cautionnement du paiement de la main d’œuvre et des matériaux, chacun équivalent à 50 % du montant du contrat.

Les règlements de soumission stipulés dans l’article « Instructions to Bidders » du document d’appels d’offres s’appliquent au présent contrat. Les soumissionnaires seront tenus de s’inscrire au https://www.portbelledune.ca/fr/services/rfps-tenders pour obtenir les documents d’appel d’offres. Spring Cleaning bags will be given to registered community members on low-income assistance on Friday, May 31, 2024, starting at 10AM while supplies last. Pickup at Social Services at 2 Gef St.
Spring cleaning bags consist of floor cleaner, window cleaner, toilet paper, dish soap, laundry detergent, and more.

Listuguj Police Department – April Statistics

Each month, the Listuguj Police Department (LPD) will disclose monthly statistics regarding police activity in the community.
These statistics will be arranged into two categories: Criminal Offences and Non-Criminal Events. This report is intended to maximize transparency and accountability within the LPD and to raise awareness of police activity in Listuguj.
In April, the LPD received an average of 6 calls daily and responded to 174 incidents.
The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government expresses its gratitude and appreciation to the LPD for their continuous efforts and dedication to the safety of our community.
