Exciting Update: All Payments Now by Direct Deposit!

The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government is making it easier and faster for you to receive payments! To better serve our community and ensure there are no payment delays—especially during potential Canada Post service disruptions—all LMG payments will now be issued through Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), commonly known as direct deposit.

To enroll for EFT, simply fill out an EFT Enrolment form and bring in a void cheque or direct deposit slip (available from every bank). EFT Forms are available from every department, at LMG Reception, as well as via email from EFTinfo@listuguj.ca

The deadline to submit your banking information is May 30th, 2025. This will be the date of the last cheques printed, and payments will not be issued unless the recipient is registered for EFT/direct deposit.

If you’re already receiving payroll, foster care, or social assistance payments by direct deposit, there’s nothing you need to do—you’re all set to receive all other LMG payments directly into your existing bank account. If you wish to have your other payments deposited to a different bank account, simply send us an email at EFTinfo@listuguj.ca to change your information.

Notify the Finance Department of any changes in your banking information ASAP to prevent delays.

  • Stay informed – receive an email notification the same day your payment is sent (when an email is on file)
