LMDC Hosts Visitors From Inukjuak and Kuujjuaq
On May 11, 2026, the LMDC – Listuguj Mi’gmaq Development Centre team was delighted to host visitors from Inukjuak and Kuujjuaq. Representatives from the Kativik Government’s Sustainable Employment Department visited to learn more about our youth employability and training initiatives.
Following an information-sharing session, guests were guided on a community tour. Stops included visits with: Denise Jacques and Sandy Bulmer at Social Services, who provided an overview of their client programs and exciting plans for a new outdoor services/cultural space; Paige Isaac and Amy Chamberlin at the LMG highlighted Listuguj’s “Feeding Our Governance Spirit” youth initiative, which nurtures knowledge of governance, culture, and community; as well as Loni Vicaire and Sue Ann Clement, who shared insights into the community gardens and their vision for sustainability.
The visit concluded on a meaningful note, with the LMDC team receiving a beautiful polar bear soapstone carving. Qujannamiik which means Wela’lin in Inuktitut.
