Striped Bass Survey
Attention Community Members!
In recent years, community fishers have reported a substantial increase in Ji’gaw (striped bass) within the Restigouche River. This situation has sparked discussions of concerns and potential opportunity within the community.
The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government (LMG) and the Natural Resources Directorate (NRD) are exploring options on how Listuguj should approach this increase, including the development of a Ji’gaw harvesting plan under our community jurisdiction.
The survey found through the link below is part of a series of community discussions and engagement. Our goal is to gather community perspectives and explore what should be included in the development of the harvesting plan.
