Summary of Function:
The Gignu Assistant Manager (GAM) under the supervision of the Gignu Manager (GM), is responsible to ensure that day-to-day operations run smoothly. The Assistant Manager will draw up weekly schedules, manage team meetings, and assist the Gignu Manager with establishing best practises and planning transformative Gignu orientations according to the law. The Assistant Manager must be experienced in a supervisory role, and be able to confidently deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate project and event objectives. The incumbent must be able to competently perform duties in the absence of the general manager.
Job Duties:
- Executive support includes fulfillment of all duties of the Gignu Manager in their absence and execute tasks assigned by the GM, or LCSSD Director.
- Maintain facility oversight in the GM’s absence, provide access to and monitor for repairs, upgrades and renovations and potential vandalism within the facility.
- Support the GM in management of digital communications including email account, social media platforms and communique via (Facebook, Instagram etc.), ensure all inquiries receive a response in a timely manner.
- Support after-hours emergency response by sharing on-call duties and handling issues and emergencies, develop and support critical incident and behavioural crisis, crisis management, follow up and communication with appropriate resources, follow protocol and procedures, and documentation.
- Support the GM and assist with anything from project planning, taking care of administration duties such as filing system, insurance, car registration, inventory of equipment, etc.
- Supervising, managing staff and delegating daily tasks. Address issues in a timely fashion, in collaboration with the LCSSD Director and LMG Human Resources. Nurture positive working relationships with staff, while setting a good example for team. Support teams with de-escalation strategies and crisis response protocols.
- Promote Gignu’s mission, its development and growth, assisting with financial analysis and reports to funders in collaboration with the GM as required.
- Support the GM design, update and modify comprehensive orientation programs to ensure all are well-versed in safety protocols, organizational mission, and specific task requirements, reporting and communication regarding incidents.
- Consult with community and internal stakeholders to define and sequence the resources (financial and human) needed for immediate and future projects, establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders, all levels of government local, provincially and federally.

Requirements:
- Bachelor of Human Services or Social Work Degree, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
- 1 to 3 years in a management position; or in the Social Services sector or Youth Rehabilitation Intervention field.
- Possess a valid Driver’s License, and liability waivers to ensure all activities meet legal requirements such as operating a Gignu vehicle as needed.
- Ability to pass a Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check.
