Summary of Function:
The Pedagogical Leader is a central figure in fostering high-quality teaching and learning within a school or educational institution. This role focuses on supporting educators in their professional growth, enhancing instructional practices, and ensuring alignment of curriculum and teaching strategies with organizational goals and student needs. The Pedagogical Leader collaborates closely with teachers, leadership teams, and stakeholders to create an inclusive, innovative, and effective learning environment.
Job Duties:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum to ensure it meets educational standards and the needs of diverse learners.
- Promote evidence-based instructional strategies and innovative teaching practices.
- Ensure the integration of cultural and linguistic elements into the curriculum, as applicable.
- Mentor and coach teachers to enhance their instructional skills and confidence.
- Plan and deliver professional development workshops and training sessions.
- Facilitate reflective practices among educators to promote continuous improvement.
- Monitor and analyze student performance data to inform teaching practices and curriculum adjustments.
- Develop and implement strategies to address gaps in student learning and promote equity.
- Pilot and evaluate new teaching methodologies and tools to improve outcomes.
- Support teachers in implementing inclusive teaching practices for students with diverse needs, including special education, language learners, and gifted students.
- Promote social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies to enhance the overall well-being of students.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience as an educator, with a strong understanding of curriculum design and instructional strategies.
- Leadership experience in an educational setting is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and use it to guide decisions and improvements.
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices and culturally responsive teaching.
- Ability to pass a criminal background/Vulnerable Sector check.
