On April 29, 2015 the federal government approved a one-time compensation for the loss of use for the 5 parcels of land. Since then community members have been applying for their one time lump sum payment (Per Capita Distribution).
The five year deadline is soon approaching on June 19, 2020. There remains a number of Listugujewaq (+18 years) who have not claimed their Per Capita Distribution amount. According to the terms of the settlement agreement, the deadline to apply for these monies is June 19, 2020. After this date, all remaining funds will have been deemed forfeited.
Please note this deadline does not affect the minors at the time of the agreement. They are still encouraged to apply for their PCD once they turn 18.
