Monthly schedules will be posted in advance for those youth who may be interested in registering. On days of special outings, the facility will be closed (reminders will be posted on our Facebook page). On days of workshops, the facility will remain open to those not registered, respecting the building’s capacity due to Covid-19 restrictions; we will also ask the youth’s to engage in more calm and quiet activities on these days in order to avoid disrupting workshops being provided.

Registration may be required for planned special outings and/or workshops. In this case, youths will be asked to register in advance to ensure capacity is maintained within the transporting vehicle or workshop.

Start Dates and Grand Opening Event

  • As mentioned above, all start dates are to be determined due to recent Covid-19 cases being presented in the community. With that being said, it is possible that we may have to push back our Grand Opening Event as well as the official start date of our programs. We will be keeping a close eye on the situation. Although we hope to be able to open sooner than later, it is our priority to ensure that we open and celebrate this re-opening when it is safe to do so.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your consideration. Be safe, everyone.

Water System Malfuntion and Postponement at Alaqsite’w Gitpu School

During a water testing of the newly installed sprinkler system, a malfunction caused an issue that has impacted the ventilation system. No harm or major damage has happened.

Until the ventilation system is repaired and tested next week, the new extension of the Alaqsite’w Gitpu School cannot sustain maximum capacity. This includes all shared spaces, such as the cafeteria (food services), gymnasium, Methods & Resources, Ceremony Room, and all Mi’gmaw Immersion classrooms.

The English and Mi’gmaw Nursery Orientation Days can continue safely on September 10, 2021, and their start date will not be impacted.

The first day of classes for all students will be September 13, 2021.
