Message to Students from Sugarloaf Senior High School

Our thoughts and hearts are with the community of Listuguj and all those affected by the tragic events this weekend. We send our deepest condolences.

SSHS students from Listuguj are not required to attend School or the Learning Hub tomorrow, Monday, May 17th, so that they may be with the community and access the support services that are being organized in Listuguj.

SSHS will also be providing additional support services at the school tomorrow and throughout this coming week, for students and staff. We urge anyone who would like to speak with someone to reach out and contact the school.

In these difficult times, we will grieve together and be there to support our community however we can.

LETE Learning Hub Update

On April 6, 2021, Listuguj high school students returned to in-class learning in New Brunswick based on the Group A/B scheduling. For continuing support, the learning hub at the LMDC remains open. As the A/B scheduling will continue for the foreseeable future, students are still responsible for the online remote content on the days they do not attend SSHS. The Listuguj Education, Training and Employment anticipates a seamless and positive transition. Students should feel welcomed and supported through their daily activities. We will continue to support individuals’ social, emotional, and academic success.

As term 2 is coming to an end, attendance at both sites will be reflected in the students’ school checks. SSHS is hosting virtual parent and teacher meetings on Thursday, April 15, in the evening, and Friday, April 16, in the morning. Parents/Guardians will need to contact SSHS to schedule a meeting at 506-789-2125.

LETE wants to hear from parents of all students to share your child(ren)’s successes as well as any concerns. Please feel free to contact Tammy Barnaby at or 418-788-2248.
