The Community of Listuguj Celebrates National Aboriginal Day
The community of Listuguj will be hosting various activities throughout National Aboriginal Day of Friday June 21, 2013. We encourage everyone to attend the various events happening as follows:
- GMRC is hosting a sunrise ceremony at 5:30 A.M. followed by a salmon ceremony at 10:30 A.M. and a salmon lunch at 12:15 P.M. at the GMRC building.
- Listuguj 3rd Annual Children’s Pow Wow will take place at 1:30 P.M. at Moffats Landing.
- Families First will host a community smudging ceremony that will begin at the Families First building and travel throughout the community.
- The LMG will be hosting activities that will take place at the Listuguj ball field located behind the Youth Center where there will be an afternoon of BBQ and activities leading up to a friendly open softball game where whomever would like to participate can play. The day will start at 3:00 P.M. and the softball game will start at 5:30 P.M.
We hope to see everyone out to celebrate our heritage and our culture on this National Aboriginal Day.
