Recycling Bin Inspection Day
There will be a recycling bin inspection day on July 10th, 2020 starting at 9:00 A.M. For those with their recycling bins out on the curb, they will be rated on if everything in the bin is recyclable and if the bin is well positioned on the curb. Notes will be written down and placed on the doorknob if there is anything in the bin that doesn’t belong in the recycling. Items that are accepted in the recycling bin are as follows:
- Paper and cardboard (Ex: boxes, milk and juice cartons, paper bags, paper, envelopes, etc.)
- Glass (Ex: bottles, mason jars, etc.)
- Metals (Aluminium plates, foil, cans, etc.)
- Plastics (Anything that has the label of 1,2,3,4,5,7)
Non stretchable or metallic plastics are not accepted in the recycling bin. Spray cans, paint cans and any other household hazardous waste are not accepted in the recycling bin. However, if you need to dispose of them, they can be brought to the public works building where they will be disposed of properly. If you have any other questions about where to bring bulky waste or what is accepted in the recycling bin, contact Public Works at 418-788-3047.
