SUBJECT:        Midwifery bachelor’s degree program: One spot reserved for First Nations and Inuit students

The FNQLHSSC is pleased to announce that a spot will henceforth be reserved for First Nations and Inuit students in Quebec wishing to register for the bachelor’s degree program in midwifery, which is offered exclusively by the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR).1 This is an important step forward for women, babies and entire families who will be able to benefit from care and support at birth better suited to their physical, psychological, cultural, emotional and spiritual needs. This measure will contribute to promoting promising practices allowing more women to give birth on their territories and with their families. Ultimately, these midwives of the UQTR will have a decisive role to play in the future and health of their communities.

Registration

This reserved spot will be added to the program this spring, just in time for the next 2020 cohort. Those who are interested and who meet all the admission conditions are invited to contact the program committee management before submitting their application at magali.bechard@uqtr.ca  before March 1, 2020. For the admission conditions or for any other information, visit the UQTR website.
