Kwey good afternoon Chief Martin,

 

I am pleased to bring greetings from the Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg Band Council to you and your Band Council. 

 

The Kitigan Zibi community is going through a similar process although we have not yet gotten down to the wording for the settlement offer. We have an offer to settle some 24 spec. claims as a global settlement. That being said, we understand that you have been able to confirm wording that does not include the issue of extinguishment of land or silencing of rights. This is most interesting and very ground breaking from our point of view.

Would it be possible for you to email me a copy of the proposed settlement agreement that has been circulated to your membership? We are interested in the wording and would agree not to circulate the document should you agree to send it to us.
