Listuguj Learning Hub Update
As the first semester comes to an end and second semester has now started at the Hub for our high school students, we want to share the progress that has been made at the Listuguj Learning Hub. It has been 4 months since New Brunswick closed its doors to all students living outside of the province, including students from Listuguj. The Hub is run smoothly by a staff of 23, which mainly includes Enhancement staff, Teachers, EA’s and Administration.
Communication
Both SSHS and the Hub are working collaboratively to improve teacher / student communications by providing clearer expectations and monitoring efforts. SSHS made investments in communication technology and provided software use training to support those efforts.
Academic Achievements
Academic Achievements at the Hub are proving to be successful and attendance in general is consistent. At the Hub, we have great supports in place for students to succeed.
Upcoming
The Hub Administration team has been working hard with SSHS administration to build a schedule that better meets the needs of Listuguj students who lived in a 100% on-line model in first semester. Some changes we are happy to announce are that we are providing in community vocational and hands-on training opportunities and we are also incorporating more cultural and land-based learning as well this new semester.
A big change for all high school students of New Brunswick this semester is that all students are expected to be learning five days a week now as opposed to every other day. Therefore, we have offered the option to attend the Hub daily to our students. If they choose to continue at the Hub every other day, they must still log on to their classes online at home.
Report Cards
Note that all first semester report cards have been distributed!
