DESCRIPTION:There will be a commemoration event and walk for Migwite’tm ’81 on Tuesday\, June 11th\, 2019.  Due to the weather forecast\, the event will now take place at the Listuguj Community Development Centre (Bingo Hall).  Weather permitting\, the walk will start from GMRC at 9:00 a.m. to the Listuguj Education Directorate.  A bus will meet us there to bring everyone to the Bingo Hall.  Everyone is still welcome to walk the rest of the way if they wish.  T-shirts will be given out to the first 150 community members.  Activities at the Bingo Hall will start at 10:00 a.m.  Plenty of food and prizes to be won!

DESCRIPTION:The Listuguj Fisheries Department will be conducting the Mother’s Day Lobster distribution this Friday\, May 10th\, 2019.  Priority will be elders\, mothers\, and then remaining community members. Delivery is available only for elders and immobile community members. \n\n\nDelivery for elders and immobile community members will begin at 1:00 p.m. Mothers can also pick up lobster starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Natural Resources garage building. \n\n\nDepending on availability\, the remaining lobster will be available for all community members at a first come first serve basis. This will be announced during the day via Facebook and CHRQ. \n\nOnly one bag per household.

DESCRIPTION:The Listuguj Fisheries Department will be presenting updates on the current stock status of salmon on the Restigouche watershed\, new DFO approaches\, and other department updates. \nA special guest presentation will be hosted by Dr. Alistair Bath. Dr. Bath is a world expert in Human Dimensions of wildlife management. He teaches and deals with natural resource management issues\, parks and protected areas planning\, conflict resolution and public involvement\, usually in the context of wildlife and large carnivore issues. \nFollowing his presentation\, a breakout session will be held with the community\, where they can engage with Listuguj Fisheries and Gespe’gewaq Mi’gmaq Resource Council (GMRC) staff on salmon management in the community. \nA supper will be served after the event\, catered by Twist of Heaven! Please come out and engage!
