DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, May 10th\, 2018 marks Spirit Bear’s 10th birthday and two years since the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal ordered the federal government to fully implement Jordan’s Principle. \nJordan’s Principle ensures that First Nations children can access all public services when they need them and ways reflective of their distinct cultural needs\, takes full account of the historical disadvantage linked to colonization\, and without experiencing any service denials\, delays or disruptions related to their First Nations status. \nShow your support and “Bear Witness” to Jordan’s Principle Implementation by bringing your bears to daycare\, school or work on May 10th.  Host a “bear party”\, coffee break or lunch to learn more about Jordan’s Principle and to honour Jordan River Anderson! \nBear parties will be held throughout the day at the Head Start\, Education Directorate\, daycare and Alaqsite’w Gitpu School.
