Veteran’s Lodge
On March 24, 2016 Listuguj held a ribbon cutting ceremony for our newly built Veterans Lodge. The Lodge was an idea the Veterans have been pushing for a very long time. On June 21, 2010 the Listuguj Veterans Memorial at the Alaqsite’w Gitpu School was presented, it was after the unveiling that the planning for a Veterans Lodge began. On June 21, 2012 the Listuguj Migmaq Government announced the beginning of construction for the Veterans Lodge unit with Rose Marie-Vicaire as coordinator. Veterans, LMG Representatives and Community Members were in attendance. Patrick Isaac said ” Those Flags were being passed around here and there…. Finally found a home.” A very special thank you to those who donated material or Labor for the building; Arco Lumber Kent Building Supplies Beton Brunswick Leon Chouinard F.D.
