Chief and Council Working Conditions 2020-2022
On November 25, 2020, the newly elected Chief and Council conducted their first Duly Convened meeting. One of the priority of discussions was Council-working conditions. Chief and Council consider it necessary to establish a framework of working conditions applicable to Councillors currently in office during their term from November 2020 ending at the next general elections.
Councillors had the opportunity of opting for a two-year contract, which ends at the end of their mandate in November 2022. The purpose of the Working Conditions for Councillors is to provide political support on various governance issues and files.
During the councillors’ working contracts, they must complete the following:
Working conditions for Councillors are not requirements of all council. Should a councillor wish to select the two-year contract and commit fulltime, the opportunity is there.
